Carrier-Class Platform

The BigBand MSP is a high availability, carrier-class platform with multi-level redundancy, critical to supporting the ultimate "always on" application – video. Adding BigBand's video quality monitoring functions, the platform delivers robust and scalable multi-applications in a highly integrated architecture that represents a future-proof investment in a rapidly-evolving video marketplace. The BigBand MSP combines powerful media processing with carrier grade networking capabilities. The mountable chassis system is NEBS3 and is composed of 1+1 Switch Control Blades, Network Processing Blades, Video Processing Blades, and Rear I/O Blades. Blades for other critical applications including digital ad insertion and QAM, are highly integrated and allows for flexible configuration. Improved video network reliability is realized through comprehensive network and system redundancy options. The MSP high availability, dual star switching fabric features 1+1 switch redundancy; N+1 video processing blade and network processing blade redundancy, in addition to a variety of the network-based redundancy configurations including program level redundancy, FEC, and retransmission applications.

Ultra-dense platform conserves rack space and reduces power consumption. Three chassis sizes provide flexibility in meeting current service and space needs with an easy-to-implement growth path.
